Painting specification for wastewater service

Hello All,

I am new in the coating area. I have this question, what kind of painting procedure could be for a carbon steel shaft that will be working in full contact with wastewater?

I was thinking in a surface treatment sspc-sp10 and then 3 layers of high build epoxy coats (min 6 mils each one).

you might consider primer + HB epoxy + seal/finish coat:

thanks nackra, But if I use HB epoxy for primer, undercoat and finish ? each one with 6 mils. What do you think?

IMO, to save your time, take a sample of the waster water and contact a vendor for recommendation of the actual coating thickness as required.

The primers are designed to bond to the metal, the build is your main protection, and the sealer extends life.
Most modern systems are designed this way.
