pan with middle mouse button?

I am using a spaceball with wildfire, and would like to know if the scrollwheel on my mouse can be set to pan the model when I push it and drag it, rather than the rotation default.

I know you can set function keys on your spaceball to act as the Control or Shift button.

Try to see if you can use that to allow you to pan with the Middle Button.
