Does anyone know of any Books or On-Line Articles about Parallel Piping systems and how to calculate the system head loss?

Also does anyone have any recommendations for software programs that work well for closed loop parallel piping systems (HVAC two and four pipe systems)?

Among many applicatives available, you can try FNESS, a software that my company released some months ago (the last release). In our site you can find a freeware version (up to 6 boundary + intersection nodes).

It is based on finite element method and can handle all kind of multi(closed)loop circuits including pumping stations, control valves, etc.

Hope it helps...

If you need a somewhat more powerful version, I'll be happy to provide you a copy. Just let me know

I recommend you PIPE-FLO Professional by Engineered Software. As an user of PIPE-FLO for more than 15 yrs I can hardly stop from recommending it for any type of steady state pumping and piping flow analysis. Program uses Darcy Weisbach and converges really fast! You can model the pumps that you plan to use from Manufacturer's catalogs and insert them into your system. You can also model existing pumps to spot trouble spots in your system and/or evaluate performance under precise operating conditions.
