I’m using parametric solids to design
Doors and other body parts
I’m curious if anybody is using parametric solids
In Catia v4 or Unigraphics to design body parts

Sounds interesting, but could you be a little more specific? I'm not really clear how (or why) you're using parametric solids for body panel design. Is it for aerodynamics research, or just for fun? Tell me more.

Is this exterior stuff ?

I can understand doing some sheet metal stuff with solids e.g. crossmembers or brackets. But not exterior class A stuff as you don't the same control of a solid as a surface.

We use GSM on CATIA to produce surface what has history like a solid and so does not have to be built from scratch each time you do a change.

Thanks CUpioneer
For fun for research and as every day activity
It is for everything else but not for styling.

Why, because is fun and fast to change after.
And because you have to look at the big picture
at the beginning of the design and decide the correct
Relations between parts.
On the and of the day you can produce better
Quality design.

Thanks, Chr1s
No, not for the A class
GSM I’m very surprised that anybody is using GSM.
I’m in Europa working for German automotive industry
And here is almost impossible to find anybody who knows
Anything about GSM
