Here's a odd one ...
I've an assembly (containing 5 sub-assy's and 3 parts) which has decided to exhibit some weird graphical phenomenon.

My best analogy would be of a ghost walking through a wall.
As you rotate the model (with spaceball or mouse) the parts all disappear and reappear through one another but everything corrects itself by the time you are looking at any particular plane (ie X-Y, X-Z, Y-Z)

I should note it only does this in perspective mode.
And it doesn't happen on other PC's.
Anyhow a picture speaks a 1000 words (if its a good one).

Any ideas???

Try going to...

View -> Camera -> Edit...

...and expanding the section of the dialog titled 'Clipping' and hitting the button labeled 'Fit Planes to Extents' and then hit OK. Once you're back to just your display, perform a display 'Fit'.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

OK ... I'll try this first thing Monday and let you know.

It worked! Fantastic!
That's saved me rebuilding my assembly so thank-you John!

As an aside ... All edges (when viewed as "Shaded with Edges" or "Wireframe with Hidden Edges") are not clean lines but appear broken. "Static Wireframe" is ok though.
I didn't mention this issue before as I thought it would be coupled with the ghosting issue but its still there.
I suspect my graphics card because it doesn't appear like this on other PC's.
Is it possible to just 'reset' all visualisation preferences within a model as a 'check'?

Can we add "Product Exorcist" to John's title now?

:)

Indeed Gunman ... ;-)
Although some of my windows/hardware issues of late have tempted me to "lay hands" on my PC myself!!

Try going to...

Preferences -> Visualization -> Visual

...and in the section titled 'General Display Settings', sub-section 'Session Settings', toggle ON the 'Edge Emphasis' option. For an added bit the clean-up you could also toggle ON 'Line Antialiasing' but that does reduce graphics performance somewhat so you may want to proceed with caution on that one.

Once again John you've hit the nail on the head.
In hunting for a solution to the "ghosting" I was trying every option I could find. I must have toggled the Edge Emphasis off and forgot to put it back on.
Incidentally the 'Evaluate Graphics Performance' suggests that 'line Antialiasing' will not affect performance with my machine setup. It certainly doesn't affect it to any great extent.
Once again ... thanks for your help!
