parent view cut in half with no section view

Hello all,

Being new to this forum and a returning user of Pro/E I am hoping that someone can help me here as I am getting nowhere with their documentation nor is my company willing to pay for technical support. My only other option is to ask one of the 'gurus' here and I am sick of doing that. (especially when it's my boss)...besides I shouldn't have to be bothering people for minor things especially for something that I feel is a bug in the software.

Basically, the problem is that I've tried creating a section view on a drawing and the parent view is cutting at the plane where the section is suppose to be taken from. Unfortunately, no section view was supplied either when I tried to apply the section view. Is there a way to correct this situation? In other words, change the parent view back to being 'whole' without it being cut in half? without having to redraw everything? and displaying the 'correct' cross section view? I don't know why this view got screwed up. I prepared everything correctly and now I can't fix it back to the way it was or get the correct cross section I originally intended without seeming to have to redraw everything and try again??? I've already dimensioned and placed other views with respect to this parent view....


Any thoughts? suggestions?

I am not sure I follow your question, but you can change the type of VIEW in (2001) by picking VIEW > MODIFY VIEW > VIEW TYPE and change to NO SEC.

I think you answered your own question. It's standard drafting practices not to take a section view from a view that has been broken. Depending what release of Pro/e you're running....I'm running 2001 and can't take a section from a broken parent view. I'm not sure their is a work around and it definitely is not in line with drafting standards. I hope this helps
