SI
have someone some experience with OPEN car storehouse.
OPEN - means that I must take care on temperature influence.
My object is 180x120m big, and have 4 floors.
It is concrete structures, and the space between column is 10x7.25m.
Here is the question for you (to help me):
- live load for car storehouse (or parking garage) is ?? (looking for minimal)
- Do you consider the temperatute loading ??
- is 60x60m to big for one field

thanks bart

Hi, fagg1

1. Live load for car parks is 3 kPa unless vehicles of more than 2.5 t tare are involved, in which case it is 5 kPa.

2. At 60m x 60m, temperature effects can be ignored except in the roof slab.

3. 60m x 60m is not too big.

Additionally, you should consider impact loads amd breaking loads. These are calculated with F=m*V^2/(2*D) where F is the force in Newtons, m is the mass in kg, V is the velocity in metres per second and D is the deceleration length in m (0.1 m for rigid barriers like columns).

Hope this helps, Helmut engcomp@ozemail.com.au
