Parking Lot Runoff to Stream

My father in law's business has a parking lot that slopes to one corner and then discharges via washed out rip rapped sale about 20 feet to the stream. There is a large hole of washed out area about midway between stream and parking lot. I am trying to help him stabilize. There is some rip rap and random chunks of old concrete and asphalt that have been dumped in the area as well. It is a small parking lot. The challenge is that when the stream is high it will come up in that corner of the parking lot so the stabilization needs to handle that I can post pics later if it would be helpful. Anyone have any ideas?

Builder604 - If the stream is the cause for the riprap scouring then I suggest wire tied riprap mattress augmented with soild and hydro-seeded. Take a look at this website:

well you really need to understand why the previous protection failed in order to get it right the second time around, otherwise you will be throwing good money after bad and it may fail again. TRM's or gabions might work if done properly, but without a better understanding, we could throw out a lot of ideas but that won't solve your problem. you will need to understand parking lot flows, river flows and flow depths lot and river bank slopes, soil types, scour potential, corrosion potential, etc.
