Parking structure lighting

Hello,

I have a case of eight story open parking structure next to a residential area.
The lighting fixtures adjucent to building edges are with glare guards and located not close than 14' from edges.
How to estimate glare on ground and other levels? I can obtain point to point illumination levels on floor planes extended to outside. I can not find criteria or practical evaluation method.

Consult a manufacturer's representative of a major lighting fixture manufacturer. They are usually willing to provide considerable help if they think a project will materialize. They also have sophisticated software to help with calculations. Take a look at the IES Lighting Handbook.

14ft seems like a long distance from the edge.

Comment: The light emission from the outside luminaire units adjacent to the building edges will blend with the light emission from the luminaire units inside. Therefore, combined light emissions from the outside and inside luminaire units should be calculated by the lighting software or by point-by-point manual calculations. However, these calculations are very tedious. They are no longer performed by a pencil and paper method except perhaps for spotchecking the software results.
