John,
I've done all my customising to our part families, but we are getting a few anomalies... If i create an M6,M8 or M10 nut, they come in as if i had'nt changed anything(visualisation, drwg & attributes etc), but if i create an M1.6, M3 nut it is OK..I'm presuming that there is someway that previously created files, may be influencing this !! i then changed the template file name to "hex_nuts_mm.prt" (adding the 's')changed the .pax , but the problem didn't go away, so i edited the names in the spreadsheet, to "hex_nuts_m8" and so on... this fixed it.. however most of the other file names are unchanged and have the same problem. Is there a way to fix this without changing all the templates to create new names?? (NX5)

If the family table member has already been created once and is on the disk, the next time you try and ask for the same item, instead of creating it new, it will retrieve the existing one instead. This was done to prevent a bunch of duplicates being created and it does not go by the name of the master file, but the names of the individual family members.

i think i might have fixed it, there were old parts in our user directories, and it must read those instead of creating new parts
