part mating sequence/coding

What is the best method for determining a part mating sequence. Such as, (ie..)48 different, or final, parts use a combination of 3 components, which could be interchanged to produce wrong parts. Would like to use mating pins and cleanace holes. Is there an easy method for determining the combinations of holes to pins?
