i"m going to set up NX in a new company, and want to get things going the way they're used to.
One of the things i'll need to do is automatically add the part number to the drawing, (i'd prefer to use master model drawings.)
So...... i may need to add a prefix after the part number to differentiate the model from the drawing file, but i'll then need a way of ignoring that when populating parts lists and adding the drawing name to the sheet.
The part numbers are typically based on 4 letters, - then 2 letters and 2 number. IE: ABCD-XY32
(all upper case), can anyone give example prefixes and how to control the attributes?
Any help appreciated.....

I am not certain that these posts will help you out, but they cover attributes ...

There are probably several more posts on this topic ... to do a search click the word "search" located above here and under the title that you gave this thread "part name attribute"

Typically for NX files the model name would be something like "abc123.prt" and the suffix "_dwg" would be added to its drawing file "abc123_dwg.prt"

thanks, there's lots of help in the searched stuff
