Hi everybody

Partial fixity feature is available in Etabs
I try to use coeff 0.7 to reduce stiffnes of beam by 70% in adjoing with wall
byt it not work,
Do I find bending stifnes of beam, and multiply with 0.7
example 25876*0.7= ......, AND this value to use as partial fixity coefficient
is this correct

I try to find in manual, but i cant

I think the partial fixity should be input as a spring K value. Test for yourself in a simple model.

The partial fixity value is a value of stiffness and not a modifier ranging from 0-1. You will have to find the bending stiffness and use that value.
