I'm trying to create a section of an assembly. I've tried using the section view in the drawing, I've also tried to save an anotation view using the section in the model.

Both, when inserted in to the drawing, have many missing components. Some parts and some full assemblies are not shown.

Attached is a screen shot of what I'm getting.

It is showing some components that are in the background, so it's not because I have 'only show cut edges' selected.

If you have the Only show cut edges option selected, then none of the background details should be showing. The ones that are showing are in error, not the other way around.

I've had similar issues in the past with sections that go through imported parts (STEP,SAT, and IGES). Sometimes I get a warning saying something to the effect of "invalid geometry would be created by the section" and sometimes I wouldn't. Usually doing a feature recognition works.

Mr Truant The only time I had that happen was with a large assy and not enough video memory. What I did, because I only needed a visual of the partial assy was to "save as part" for the whole assy, assign a new P/N, section the "part" and all appeared.

Fixed it this morning...

Turns out it was a server error of sorts. It wasn't picking up the other assemblies off of the server. Which is weird, because the assemblies were showing up in the plan view, but not on the section/elevation.

I rebooted this morning, and when I opened up the drawing, the view was magically there!

Thanks for the replies!

I also noticed some of the assemblies (when I closed) were not saving properly. "Failed to save document."
