Hi,

In masonry design, how partially grouted masonry is taked into account in the design shear wall in bending (strong axis)?

Thanks

A little confused as to what you want here...

Amerhein has tables for the effective wall width to use for the dead load for seismic design.

Regarding the reinforcing in these partially grouted walls, reinforcing is provided in grouted cells at the spacing needed to resist the perpendicular lateral loads applied to the wall.

If you want the allowable shear force to use in the wall, use the effective width of the wall from Amerhein which depends on the frequency of grouting of the cells.

I trust this answers your question.
