parts from step files disapearing

I'm using Solid Edge v14 no updates.

This used to happen once in a while now it's happening a few time daily. I have parts I brought in from .step files from cad register and they work fine at first, but then they disapear and when I open them in part files they are missing. If I shut down Solid Edge, and restart it, they usually come back, sometimes it takes a couple of tries. This is time consuming on a multi-level large assembly, 800+ parts.

We used to experience this situation where I worked before, on SEV14, they recommended to install all service packs (you should do at all times by the way), which partially fixed the problem. They explained the version of Parasolid used at V14 was mostly at blame. Also check your users' Regional Options in Windows, making sure they are all the same (ex: English USA). SEV16 was ok, we skipped V15. Good luck!
