Hello,
I am working with large assemblies that have a lot of subassemblies and parts. And I should make a BOM and parts lists of those assemblies.. My question now is that how can I add each part's material in the assembly navigator? I could add an attribute for "Type" and "Material", and now each part's type is shown but not the materials.
Every time I open a part "Make Displayed Part" I can see the material added in the part navigator, and when I go back to the assembly navigator it's shown! Why it's shown in part navigator and not in assembly navigator? I'd like experts to help me in this, please.

Thanks in advance [smile]

If you are working on NX8 or lower then there is no OOTB utility to define material for numerous components (for example if steel needs to be assigned to some components) in one shot through the assembly navigator. However using a VB script it can be done through journalling.

It sounds like you have already defined an attribute for the part material. Have you configured the assembly navigator to show this attribute? Right-click in the ANT white space and go to Columns. If the attribute doesn't show up in the columns list, go to Configure to add it.
