Hello,
I have a few questions about patches in nec2. I'm using 4nec2 for my modelling.
Has any research been done on the accuracy between using a thin wire and patch model of simple antenna structures? The patch model would use many small triangular (or square) patches to make a long thin element.
Related to the previouse, can patches intersect one another? Such as, can I have a patch in the x,y plane at z = 0 intersect through the middle of a patch in the x,z plane at y = 0?
Also, I see in the documentation at nec2.org that wires must be connected to the center of patches for the patches to be used in the final calculations. If many patches were used to model a surface, would each patch have to be connected to the previouse with a wire? Maybe all attached to a wire grid right under the pathes? How is this commonly done?
