Is it possible to pattern points along a curve? I'd like to say i want 10 points along a certain curve at a certain spacing. I also want to be able to control the number of points. All i can seem to do is put 10 points on the curve but cannot vary the number parametrically

Thanks...

The only way that I've found to do this is by using a combination of VB Script that is fired by a Knowledge Rule. :(

with the HD2 license I'm using, in the Points and Planes Repetition command form, the functionality appears to be there, but not available. What gives?

I think you have to select a point on the curve and then in the 2nd point box you can select another point. Then you can switch the top menu to 'Instances and spacing' and away you go. I dont know about the licence though I have MD + GSD

I believe if you will create a point on a curve, with repeat option selected, at the begining of the pattern, you will get the window that lets you set up a pattern of points with instances and spacing in the drop down selection.

Yes, l3ob's method works but Catia does not see it as a pattern. So it's possible to put them in quickly but you cannot manipulate them as a pattern. Sounds like an enhancement in the making.

Manipulation isn't as straight forward; but, you can change the pitch by changing the value in the definition window of the first repeat point ( not the original point on a curve ). Update will change all the repeat points to match. You can delete points as well if you need to reduce the amount without affecting the others. You can add points as well. It would be nice if Dassault would create an enhancement for this. We use this in aircraft alot!
