Dear Sirs.

I am a Pavement / Materials Engineer working for organization called BCEOM, from France.

Please educate me whether the use of rebuild tires (tires worn-off and repaired with a rubber coating)are permitted for Benkelman beam deflection testing or not. If not please write why.

All the other features of tires are complying with your TRRL report 935.

Your early reply is highly appreciated.

Best regards.

Gamini.

Retread tires are acceptable for Benkelman beam testing. Other than the space between the tires, the tire type has no bearing on the test.
