Hello all. My first post to the website!
I am looking into the purchase of a few positive displacement pumps for a batch/blend skid we are constructing.
As a temporary system, we are using small gear pumps, but they have troubles with small polymer solids that seem to be unavoidable, and the temp of our condensate (~160F)
For the permanent install, we have chosen to use fractional AC variable speed drives to control. We will be using mag-meters for flow rates, and as such, have eliminated piston type pumps due to slugging and mag meters accuracy. Here are the other details.
Pump A (blend)
up to 2L/min (0.52gal/min) liquid polymer (up to 3000cP and 1.1sg) mag-metered into 100 psig condensate (160F) or 115 psig service water (40-70F)
Pump B (batch)
up to 50L/min blend (13.2gal/min) at ~1% concentration into open tank (minor piping losses)
Any experience on what types or models of pumps that would work well in this continuous service (reliability, cost, maint, etc factored in?)
