Hello! Does anyone know why when importing a PDF vector drawing in catia (insert -> object), in the viewport it looses its "vectorness", hence it behaves more like raster image - small text unreadable when zoom in etc... thanx in advance

Hi.

What makes you think CATIA should treat vector pdfs the same way as it's own vector features?

In the past I have used Ghostscript to convert PDFs to an acceptable intermediary format. Most CAD uses some form of OLE integration to read the bitmap preview from the file instead of having a Postscript->target converter. This avoids any licensing of libraries from Adobe/Other or working with GPL.

Exactly. It is infinitely easier to store raster render rather than to process document in original format.
