Hi there,

Another problem I'm affraid! I issue a lot of work as pdf, and I'm finding that the pdf's look fine on screen, but when printed, some lines look as intended, but some lines of the exact same type, weight, style and level are coming out really faintly.

Its becoming a real problem!

Thank you in advance

Alex

This may sound "old fashioned", but I too have some problems with PDF's in Microstation, sometimes the fonts are not the same in addition to line weights being out of wack.
I typically will plot out a fullsize of what I need as a PDF and then scan it as a PDF file. This way, I always have a copy of what I sent out via PDF for use later.

I know this solution is simplistic, but it works.

Cheers!

Nice and simple - I like it!

I'll do that for my smaller a4 details. I've downloaded a free pdf writer - pdf995 - I think I'll try that instead of the Bentley pdf writer.

I'll let you know if its any good!!

I use the pdf995 free writer also. It's pretty good for free. It doesn't do everything you could want and the pop-ups are pretty annoying, but free is a good price when the boss won't buy you anything.

Free is definately good! Its been good for word documents, but thats all I've tried it on so far. Have you had any problems as I've discussed at the top with pdf 995? I must admit I tried it once with pdf 995 and it looked pretty good!

Incase anyone still has this problem with Bentley's pdf writter, I have found the solution is to use the free pdf writter 'pdf 995' available to download on the web.

I use it and the 3-D writer and I have not had any problems as of yet. But then again we have an I.T. Division that keeps us up to date.
Regards,
Namdac
