I have been publishing my SE drawings as PDF for manufacturing for an no. of years. Sometimes end user cannot view certain symbols like diameter or geometric symbols or they get translated as other fonts.

Not knowing what version of Adobe reader end user has or what fonts they have, is it possible to ensure end user gets PDF as I see it on my PC?

Thanks in advance

Based on our experience with similar, the problem seemed to be caused during creation of the PDF, with all readers showing incorrect symbols. Some PDF generators, or at least an earlier version of Adobe, had trouble generating some GD&T symbols.

How are you creating the PDFs? By saving in SE, or using some kind of distiller?

Never had any trouble with drawings from PDF995.

So, are you sure that when you open the PDF they are correct?

Always embed the fonts. That way you are not dependent on the Reader to have the right fonts installed (such as the SE GD&T fonts).
