PDMWorks and Lightweight Parts

Does anyone know how PDMWorks treats lightweight parts in an assembly when the assembly and all of it's components are checked in at the same time?

Do they become resolved upon checkin?

Is it recommended to resolve all components before checking them into PDMWorks?

It depends on which version you're using. If you're using PDMWorks 2004, all components must be resolved upon check-in, whether you like it or not. If you're using PDMWorks 2005, it is not required to have all components resolved before check-in. I prefer to resolve only the components that need to be checked in because that uses less memory and helps you avoid crashes. (In a previous thread, thread559-107229, I was having crashing issues when I was trying to check in a large assembly.) However, you will want to make sure in the "Options" menu that out-of-date lightweight components are resolved, either automatically or by prompting you.

I agree with PDMAdmin. I usually check-in my dwgs and the part/assy will go with the dwg.
