Hi Fellows,

My company is considering the use of 4" PEAD piping to flow off production from the well location to a tank farm located 2,5 miles (3,5 km) far.
My questions:

Do PEAD piping chemically resistent to crude oil?
Do PEAD piping resist a pig scraping?
Where can I find some the PEAD piping suppliers all over the world?

Some data process are:
crude oil viscosity - 20 Cp
temp - 104º F (40ºC)
Flowing pressure - 15,69 bar

Thanks 0707,

I've already read this paper. But I will rrady again. I was told that only the PEAD piping linned with some aromatics resistent product can work with crude oil, if you, in your country, has some PEAD suppliers contacts I would thanks.

There is not ususal in oild fiels E&P to use HDPE/ PEAD pipes, even the service data does not pose difficulties for this material. The point is if you have available at the job site the right heat bonding machine and trained and experienced operators to avoid faulty/ leaking joints.

More usual material for this service is Epoxy Fiberglass pipe for flow lines, collection lines and processing plants.

Hope this helps you
