PED 97/23/EC - EC Type Examination / EC Design Examination

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone could offer any guidance on the exact differences on EC Design Examination and EC Type Approval.

My understand that is;

EC Design Examination in conjunction with Module H1 - A Notified Body exams the design application and if satisfied issues an EC Design Examination Certificate.
EC Type Approval in conjunction with Module B - A Notified Body exams the design application and exams the pressure equipment, and if satisfied issues an EC Type Examination Certificate.

I am struggling to find a clear cut answer and would appreciate any comments.
