My company is looking into manufacturing a few pressure vessels & piping that mus meet the Pressure Equipment Directive.
The vessels all fall into the SEP category.

We are planning on welding some piping assemblies & vessel and testing to 1.5 the rated pressure.
We’ve done some basic calcs & FEA on the forces & stresses on the joints and welds and we are happy with the design.

Would this procedure be suitable for SEP or is there anything else we need to worry about? (eg coded welding, material certs, technical files)

Any links to external references would be appreciated.

If 1,5 x rating is higher than the test pressure according to PED it is fine.

Ask your customer if they have demands regarding certificates, design and/or NDE.

According to PED art. 3.3 there is only one document you MUST deliver: a user manual.

It is advised to follow a design code though, even for art. 3.3.
