Hello All,
I am designing a salon which has 10 pedicure stations. I got submittals for pedicure chair. This chair has two 1-1/8" pvc exhaust pipes. Code requires 50-cfm exhaust per station. When I calculate external static pressure (E.S.P) drop to size the fan, sucking 25-cfm from 1" pipe has a pressure drop of 58.8 inwc/100ft. So, lets say I have 4-ft pipe inside the chair will give me a pressure drop of 2.35 inWC only in the chair.

This is not realistic to me, may be I am making mistake?
If you have experience in Nail and foot salons, please share with me especially with pedicure seats
Thanks
Fayaz

Does all the air need to be exhausted from the chair itself? can you not exhaust say 40 CFM from above the chair and 10 CFM from the chair exhaust?
