Penetration in concrete wharf deck for potable water 2

I have a job where a 8" potable water line will need to pass through an existing concrete wharf deck. Should some type of sleeve be installed in the penetration after it has been punched in the deck? There is no need for a watertight seal.

All I know is P/A and Mc/I

How is anyone supposed to know?

A cored drilled hole is very smooth, but go at it with a jackhammer and it won't be.

Probably a good idea to use a sleeve to ensure your pipe is isolated from the warf cathodic protection system and that abrasion from potential warf/pipeline movements will not damage the pipe or its corrosion coating.

Note that isolation from the warf CP system may also apply to your pipeline's pipe supports and hangers. Better to discuss that with a CP expert.

You can use a non-metallic pipe sleeve.

If you want to anchor the pipe, you can use a link seal around it.
