I am currently developing a pressure drop analysis in a pipe, I need to simulate the effect of a perforated plate inside the pipe. I know the opening area of this perforated plate. I am familiar modeling orifice plate and perform a quick steady analysis. But this time, modeling the whole perforated plate takes a lot of graphical resources and the model gets too slow!.
One of my peers told me that I can model this perforated plate as a "porous domain". I am not familiar in setting up this kind of domain.
-what parameters rather than the opening area I need to define it?
-Is there any special interface that I need to set up for this domain?
Any reference (Tutorials, sources, etc) is welcome.
