Hi ,

I have been trying to do split solid using extrude option and whenever I pick an edge from other solid to split, it takes a good 10 to 15 secs for the application to pick and confirm. It gets worse when I keep adding more and more curves into the split command. preview is not an option and Iam not sure why application takes so much time to confirm the selection of the edge I picked.

I have seen similar performance issue doing sync modeling commands and Move Objects using preview option turned on and so I have turned off the preview.

The performance of NX12 looks like is slower than NX10..

Has anyone else seen this performance issue?

NX12.0.9 MP2 is version we are using.

I think you mean NX12.0.2.9? 12.0.9 doesn't exist
Are you allowed to install mp4?

I noticed extreme delays when making selections in NX12, and after running through everything I could think of it seemed to be graphics related (many issues are related to graphics drivers). NX12 seemed to be handling object emphasis differently so in opening Visualization Preferences and going to the Emphasis tab, I started checking and unchecking all the options available. It turns out unchecking all of the options under Emphasis Precedence fixed this issue,or at least removed the unbearable delay.

Give it a try and see what happens.

Not sure about 10, that was so long ago for me. In 11 and 12 I see diminishing performance the more picks I have so you are not imagining this. I use preview frequently but I turn it off when I have a large number selections to create a feature.

NX 12.0.2

@ Ronald, Yes you are right , its 12.0.2.9. I can get MP4 installed. But I would like to know if you have any information on particular PR which has been addressed for performance issues.. Also, is there any OTHER issues you are seeing in MP4.. Historically, I have seen Siemens will fix couple of things, but break couple different ones..

Appreciate if any Siemens product support member can provide some insight into this performance issue.

NXsupport,

Go to this thread and read the posts starting in 2019 (near the bottom). There is a not so obvious bug described by Toost that is supposedly fixed in NX12.0.2 MP4 (I see you claim you have MP2 installed). Might be worth a look and consideration to install the newer MP to see if it helps you out any.

There are 2 or 3 PR's , concerning slow performance, mentioned in the readme file provided with the the Maintenance Pack. But not one with the same description as your problem.

Add on what I said in the

If you are interested in knowing if you have encountered this particular bug,
Open the NX logfile and search for:
ifail 22 from ENBXEN
If you find that, you will gain from installing MP4 on 12.0.2

It typically "shows" in the session such that common operations "hesitates", for example the split body on the selection step when it will show the preview.
If you would have turned OFF the preview of "that" feature BEFORE you do that selection that takes time, you will not encounter this bug.
If "it" has happened in the session, this session will continue to be slow.
The problem is not saved in the files, the data is not damaged in any way. All that happens is that the session becomes slower and slower over time because the preview function has somewhat crashed.
Note, this problem ONLY exists in NX12 before the mentioned MP. It does not exist in NX11 or earlier.

Regards,
Tomas
