Hi,
if one company decides to install permanent steam blowing line (blowoff line) to the atmosphere for Supercritical coal fired boiler (of course the steam blow pressure will not be the same as boiler operating pressure, the steam blow pressure would be 20% from boiler operating press). The installation is done by modifying the superheater outlet header with two block valves (rating min. same with boiler MAWP). what are the related clauses for this steam blow line in asme section 1 and b31.1.
I think the steam blow should be considered as steam piping (BEP, boiler external piping) B31.1 section 122.1.2 "steam piping" but not "blowoff" as per B31.1. section 122.1.4 or section 1, PG. 59.3. For the blowoff line is this applicable for steam or only water?.
Thanks
