Please read the title carefully. It says liquid steels. what happens to the NMI on solidification of steel.

NMI in liquid steel is of no consequence, It is only when the steel solidifies does it have a role.

Interestingly ,nearly 28 years ago the topic of my ME diisertation was "Influence of NMI on mechanical properties of steel ".

Obviously the efect of non metallic inclusions is very important during the solidification so on the solid steels.

But if the liquid steel have a big amount of NMI the solid steel will have also the un big amount of inclusions....

But we must also say that the most NMI wich can be found in steel casting for exmeple came from the sand of the mold.
