Wow, between the overreaction (buildings unsafe for habitation!) and the political/racist slant of the commenters that article is really making a mountain over a molehill.
Someone will make a few bucks (maybe many, many bucks) checking the designs, a strap will be added here and a hold-down there and a couple of idiots will (deservedly) go to jail for a very short time, and be on probation for a much longer time.
