Good Morning,

Does anyone have a good website that shows pics of pipe and vessel failures caused because of defective welds.
I would like to show these photos to our welding apprentices to illustrate the importance of sound weld practices.
Thanks.

Long, long ago.... when the earth's crust was cooling, I bought a copy of this excellent book ....

(I believe that the seller was named Flintstone or something... had a funny looking car)

The book is certainly dated, but covers all kinds of piping and vessel failures including design and material selection failures

You might want to talk to these people also ...

Your needs seem vague ?.... What exactly are you trying to do ???

Have a good one gents

Get the National Board of fired and unfired pressure vessels web site and see if anything comes up in their articles.

The book by Thielsch, recommended by MJC is an eye opener. This book all though dated is a complete Encyclopedia of pressure parts failures see in the industry of power, chemical, & oil. Detailed to the explanation of weld defects, material defects and all types of stress, and many photos to boot. The book provides information necessary for the recognition of conditions leading to service failures. It analyzes many preliminary failures and evaluation experiences to institute preventive techniques. Original printing 1965. I inherited it from my father along with Technical bulletins from Thielsch back in the day.
