Pictorial Break-Out Section View

NX 6.0

Looking at the documentation (showing a pictorial view as an example) it implies creating 'curves' in an expanded view.

Seeing as the menu option for 'basic curves' is not available (although it can be enabled easily), how 'should' I create curves to define a break-out boundary ?

I do like 'sketch in drafting', but not sure how I could use this method to define the boundary.

Use the 'Lines and Arcs Toolbar' (it can be toggled ON from the 'Curve' toolbar).

That being said, what's the exact version of NX 6.0 that you are running? I ask this because in NX 6.0.5.3 I can use EITHER the 'Line and Curves Toolbar' OR the 'Basic Curves' dialog (I prefere the 'Lines and Arcs' approach).

I'm using NX 6.0.5.3.

Now, I can create a break-out boundary using the 'Lines and Arcs Toolbar', but I cannot select them when it comes to defining the boundary. I can only select 'Basic Curves'.

lines and arcs must be non associative to be selectable !!!

I thought so, pretty useless then !

That's why I was looking to use a 'Sketch' within the view.
