I just installed Visio 2000 and dont seem to have the flowchart--->Piping and instrumentation option.

Does anyone know if a)wether it even should have this option
b) can i download and update or add-on to be able to use it
c) can it be extracted from visio 2003(as i have this, it just wont install on win98 which i am currently running)

Depends on the specific edition of Visio. There were specific editions such as Technical, etc., at one point in time.

You should be able to copy the Solutions folder contents from 2003 to 2000, although I'm unclear whether you need to downsave

Thanks IRstuff.

I will try to copy the solutions folder over, what do you mean by downsave?

yeah no such luck....installed 2003 on another computer and it doesnt even have the solutions folder.

2000 wont open 2003 stencils either.

Surely there is a PID add-on for 2000 or something :S

You might want to check your install disk, then.

My copy of 2000 came with with a variety of piping and instrumentation templates, so they do exist.

I have some valves and piping options but I have visio 2000 Technical.
If you can get AutoCad. Visio will work, you have to build a ton of your own stencils. My bigest complaint is in sharing files with/from others. The Autocad files import poorly and when you try to send Visio to many users their comment is Vis what?
