Pierced Conical Extrusion Design

I am attempting to design a treaded extrusion to replace a current weld nut design. The mating screw is an M8, and I want to be sure that I have enough material available to form the feature. I do not have alot of experience designing such features. Is there a book/technique reference that I could use to help finish this design?
