I am a new engineer designing a pile foundation. I have designed spread footings in college, but I am completely thrown by the presence of piles and I am hoping for resources that would be helpful for me. I have been given pile capacity charts by the geotechnical engineer and I would very much appreciate a nudge in the right direction from more experienced engineers.
Thanks

What kind of piles? Steel? Concrete? Prestressed? Timber? Any lateral loads?

Pile design ends up being pretty easy in practice for most applications. We get a lot of hand holding from our geotechnical friends who dumb it down a fair bit for our use.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
