Pile lateral load test 1

Hi all, can anyone help me about cast in place RCC pile lateral load test?

I have piles of dia 1000mm. I have a lateral load of 525 KN per pile. following "Pile foundation analysis and design", Poulos and Davis (Chapter 8-Load deflection prediction for laterally loaded piles) i have measured a deflection of 31.5mm for my pile. Now i need to write the specification of the load test. I have found the document of testing procedure ASTM D3966 but it doesn't give any indication about the test load or the the maximum allowable pile deflection. Please help if u have any idea or knowledge. Regards--

I have ran several of these tests in the past. My recommendation would be to take the predicted maximum load or the required load per pile divide by 10 then load the pile in those increments until the pile fails or you reach the maximum deflection that the structure or structural engineer can handle. At that point unload the pile in 4 equal increments and call it done.

The ASTM basically allows any loading sequence you want so you can use the above loads with the test setup included in the ASTM.

Good luck. I personally like load tests. It really shows just how conservative you are being.
