Hi Everyone.

I am currently developing my knowledge in geotechnical design of CFA piling.

I understand the basic principles for developing shaft resistance and end bearing to create an unfactored compression resistance. However, as with the majority of basement projects Piled walls for instance are highly relied upon for not just their retaining action but for compression resistance as pile caps and superstructure are often built off them.

How do you measure the bearing capacity of a CFA contig wall pile? surely group action is a significant factor and also the net pressures on the internal and external sides impact the shaft resistance figures.

Thank you and any guidance/comments welcome.
