I have a situtaion where I may need to replace approx. 6000 lf of 15" Sanitary Sewer line. The authority seems to like the idea of placing a parallel pipe, 18", next to the existing line. I believe there are going to be some environmental issues along the alignment, wetlands etc. and was thinking that pipe bursting may be an option. Approx. 4000' of line would be through a golf course and I'm not sure, waiting for survey, if we would be crossing any green, tees etc.

The open cut method may be cheaper, but I don't have any info. on pricing for pipe bursting. If anyone has any experience with bursting I would apperciate it if you could provide some rough estimating pricing so that I can make weigh all of the options. Thanks

Hey there,
I know this is a very old thread, but I'm new to the site, so I've just been randomly reading.
So I checked out pipe bursting and found a site with a little animation and a phone #. I'm sure you've long since solved your engineering challenge, but thought I'd send this link along.
