hi experts,
1. what is the procedure to provide the pipe rack loading to structure group for structure design, Please elaborate about the same?

2. at the preliminary stage of project, , how to consider the vertical loads, guide loads, anchor loads of piping on rack on the basis of P&id (3-d not modelled),

3. what is criteria to calculate the UDL - uniform distributed load and concentrated loads for piping on rack,
please share your experience

Usually not needed. Structural engineers will assume representative standard pipe support area loads, probably around 1000N/m2, according to their previous experience with similar plants. Talk with the group and learn about their standard loads. Longitudinal pipe stress forces are normally taken as 10% of the area load.

If you have specific knowledge of identified pipe loads that will be in excess of their standard load, tell them.

A black swan to a turkey is a white swan to the butcher ... and to Boeing.

To consider the concentrated loads on the pipe rack if there is equipment, as an example, to be located on the pipe rack, which may exceed the uniform loading as typical used for the structure calculation.

1. You can get accurate support/rack loads from the piping stress model. You can even include the support structure in the piping model.
2. Requires an educated guess
3. See 1.
