Hai,

For the DN 1600 mm SSAW pipes where to refer the Schedule and Dimensions.

Grade ASTM A 53 Gr.B Measured available thickness in pipes 13 mm.

What ever your pipe standard is will either list it or reference another standard.

Try asme b36.10m as a start point.

We do insulation for the chilled water pipelines my client requirement is DN 1600 mm 14.2 mm THK pipes but in the standard there is no schedule mentioned. Because in need to know that schedule and allowance for thickness.

ASME B36.10M, as LI has stated, will have the schedules, wall thicknesses, weight, OD, etc. for all Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipe up to 80" NPS.

ASME B36.19M is pretty much the same except it is for Stainless Steel Pipe up to 30" NPS.

Just been working a project with large OD pipe. We have DN1200 x 14.27mm. These pipes are made from standard thickness plate the mills use. You can see from thickness tables (B16.10) for smaller pipes what plate the mills use. 9.52, 10.97, 11.13, 12.7, 14.27, 15.09 etc. The mills should be able make pipe with these thicknesses.

For insulation, you are working the outside of the pipe. The pipe tables assign all OD's, and there is no differences allowed for different wall thicknesses. (Pipe ID will change based on wall thickness, not OD).

Hai,

Thanks for the reply. Please see here i was attached ASME B36.10 there is not mentioned any specific schedule for parallel to the thicknesses.

Correct.

Schedule no (40, 80 XS etc) don't apply for this diameter.

Schedule number has nothing to with allowances or tolerances. Those are listed in your pipe specification/standard.

Thanks for everyone.

Mr.Little inch,

Thanks

So how much tolerance for this DN 1400 mm? Where to see the tolerance(standard)? Am getting 13.3 mm. ACTUAL MENTIONED IN MILL CERTIFICATE 14.2 mm.

Dimensional tolerance will be contained either in the specific material specification (ASTM A53 grade B quotes under tolerance of 12.5% from nominal), but I suggest you obtain a copy of ASTM A53 grade B - or it is superseded by a particular client specification or RFQ or as agreed between the purchaser and the supplier.

This is very basic engineering design practice.
