Pipe Wrap

Which would be the best type of wrap insulation(or any) to control the cooling rate while welding on Chrome(5cr, 9cr, 1-1/4 cr)? These are pipe enlosures sizes vary form 12"-3' in lengh.
Our shop does not do many of these jobs and we have no procedure in place at the time.
