I received cathodic protection of three pipelines underground the size ( 3'',3'' and 4inch) the result shows below the -859mV around -450mV due to anode consuming. The CP system installed in 1990 for that found thermite weld on the pipelines disbanding.
now, the scope to replace high potential Mg anodes, cables and reweld the thermite weld on the pipelines.

Could you give me the name of standard i can be followed especially for thermit weld?

by the way, the repair will be conducted on service, is there any extra safety precaution.
the remaining thickness of pipelines above 5.5 mm .

Is there any alternative method of thermite weld?

thank you in advance,

No standard for CAD welding I'm aware of, only industry best practice / guidelines. An alternative to CAD weld can be BAC pin brazing. Another alternative is banding, however I don't recommend this as they always loosen over time.
