Piping cost estimate

Hi to all,

I need help to estimate costs for piping.

It is a boiler plant and I would like to estimate costs for piping inside the boiler house:
- steam
- feed water and condensate
- cooling water
- control air
- etc.

I should somehow estimate (not so precise) costs for piping including:
- design
- documentation
- materials
- erection

Practically complete price from design phase to installation.

If anyone have some literature or some links that could help - I would be grateful.

There is no way any person can give you that information, without going through all of the analysis - very, very expensive analysis! - to actually make the bid for your location: country, geography, shipping, staging, and materials and erection fees and support ...... NONE of those are known or even hinted at!

How much money would it cost to build a car?
How much money does it take to paint a building?
How much money does it cost to build a road?

Can you answer any of those questions either?
Would you ask those questions?

I was thinking about rough estimate nothing with going to details.

Once I had a handbook with algorithm how to estimate piping costs (I just can't find this book anymore).

As I recall it's practically few equations with coefficients. Once again - roughly estimation.

I wasn't expecting that someone will calculate cost for me - just guidance where I could find the method.

Usually sales engineers have short ways for this estimations.

Maybe it's time to call a sales engineer with some specifics. You don't necessarily have to commit. They might even cough up the algorithm for you.

In many countries are associations of cost engineers,
You can order a book there.
Many tech. prices are in there.
(Although I think the prices in that book are a little too high,
But it is a good start).
