piping fitting material selection

Dear friends,
can anybody introduce a complete reference or procedure to select the fitting material for a special pipe material.
for example:
if pipe is SA106 GrB then:
fittings are A234WPB and forgings sa105,...

Match yield strengths and chemical composition of fittings as closely as you can to your pipe material.

Piping designers use a document called a 'piping specification' and it has all the components listed (including pipe, valves, fittings, gaskets, bolting, etc) to achieve a specific duty - e.g. steam at 140 psi and 300F. It will also list NDT requirement and also may specify heat treatment and other information to ensure fitness for service.

In my experience the weakest components tend to be the valve and flanges.

These documents tend to be proprietary and you'd probably have to pay a piping designer to produce them for you.
