Hoping someone could provide direction for me.

Storing a rack of Acetal, resins, HDPE plastic sheets and trying to confirm whether or not I can store these materials on racking higher than 5 ft.

Thank you.

If this question concerns the height of storage and if the automatic sprinkler system can protect the hazard based on the NFPA 13 requirements, provide the sprinkler system design criterion and the building height measured from the finished floor to the bottom of the roof deck. Also, what is the slope of the roof?

Acetal and polyethylene are classified as group A plastics. Not sure about resin. Using CMDA sprinklers and correctly classifying the commodity, there is no really height limitation of the storage per 13. Just follow the appropriate section.

There is another NFPA that addresses plastics storage beside NFPA 13. I don't remember which one it is however but check out NFPA231C

231C is obsolete. According to NFPA website, 231 and 231C were withdrawn in 1999 and incorporated into 230. Subsequently, NFPA 230 got incorporated into NFPA 1. In short, all sprinkler design requirements went to 13 and all the rest went to 1.

Good to know UFT12, now I can throw out my old NFPA 231C and 230.
